production log 8

This week was the draft deadline. We got some feedback from our teacher the date before to get some advice on what improvements we can make. After giving us feedback we decided when to make those changes. The issue this week was that we had to re-film a lot of our work we did so far; which was all the scenes except the main scene in the basement. The next day was the deadline for our draft so we only showed the scenes that were good to use and took the other ones away. This is what we have so far.

The decisions we had to make after were about the changes our teacher told us to make and how we need to improve our work. we also planned our when we were all free to do the editing, graphics and music but our priority being that we film the shots when we are all free.

This week the issue we had was a scene needed to be re-filmed because it didn't come out as good and we thought we would make it better. The dialogue also wasn't right and needed improving. Couldn't film the basement scenes as the actor we needed was then busy on those days so we did some editing and worked on the graphics. That was the only issue we had this week.

The decisions we had to make were to re-film those shots and improve the shots. We choose a time whenever we were all free to film again. The scene we re-filmed was the interrogation scene. We also change one of our location of this scene to suit it more. The new location was better than the old one as it fitted well with that room we needed it to be.

Production Log 6

This week, we started filming and started working with the graphic software we were going to use as the production has started. On the first day of production we planned out that we would spend 2 lessons on the car park scene in our production schedule but we actually took less time and finished it in the first lesson. This allowed us to start using the new software for making graphics. The new software we started using is called live type. We spend the lesson going through some fonts using da-font and downloading them into live type on the Macs and then using the effects on software. We didn't really have any issues or problems this week.

Production Log 5

This week, in my group we started the pre-production. This is includes the narrative, treatment, location reccies, production schedule, call sheet and the shooting script.

What have been the key issues for your pre-production this week?

Some of the key issues we had this week during pre-production was to makes decisions on the storyline, plot and narrative and then the other documents. We had to decide about the narrative and the treatment. For the narrative we wrote out everything that would happen in the film from start to finish. We did this so we would know what needs to actually be in the opening sequence instead of having most of the film in the opening sequence as has happened with past students work. We then did the treatment. The treatment was other information which is needed for the pre-production. The treatment includes information about the title, target audience, ttechnology, representation, nnarrative, conventions, style& iconography and institution. The location reccies is the location sets where the opening sequence of our film will be filmed at. For the production schedule we had to see what dates we would film and edit and which scenes. The problem with this was knowing when we would have access to certain location and if they would be available at that time and there was also the problem of having to make certain days for different characters for when they were available. We didn't have any problems with the first call sheet. Some of the decisions we made was about the final locations where to film: we had 4 finalised locations. The way we overcame the other issues was by finding out when the cast was free to film and when we could use what room. From this we planned when we could do what scenes.
